JAPANDI

Project Background:

Client X has asked us to design a bedroom around their new bedframe – Mokuzai - for their launch in August 2021.  

Task:

“We would like to see a Japandi style room for this bedframe to compliment the wood tones of the bed. The  space should be serene, calming but still very much trend led. We would also like to see an exploration of a  multifunctional bedroom as so many of us are still working from home”.

Process:

Research into Janpandi style collating inspiration, colour palette, trends, look and feel references etc, as well as UK architecture (Sash windows/ ceiling rose), set design, composition of the shots. 

Consider:

Natural and neutral colours, Layer cozy textures, reduce clutter and pops of greenery.
